Update on the packards

Pictures-Lexi let me paint her toe nails, and she was fascinated by it, Lexi and Daniel playing in the crib, Lexi's evil face, and Lexi hiding under the desk reading.

This week has been kind of busy. On Monday we went and looked at our first pick of houses, but we didn't find any we were to overly impressed with. We did round two on Thursday, and found a 3 bed 2 bath in Sugar City that was small, but really cute. We wanted to see it again on Friday morning, and then make an offer on it, but later that day our realtor called and told us that just hours before the house received an accepted offer! The house had been on the market for over 6 months...what are the odds! Needless to say there was quite a few tears (mostly from Justin..jk) but I finally came to the realization that the house was meant for another family. So yesterday at the insistence of Justin, we went to see a small manufactured home on three acres with the idea that we would live in that house until we could sub divide the land, and build a house of our own. I was really not interested in a manufactured home...no offense but they just feel like a trailer to me. Anyway, we went and looked at it and of course...no thanks. Then our realtor suggested we take another look at one of the houses that we checked out on our first day of house looking. So we went back with an open mind and realized that the house really has a lot of potential. With a few updates the house can be worth quite a bit more when we want to sell it in 6-8 years. Anyway, it has only been on the market for 2 weeks, so we are going to put an offer on it on Monday (if it doesn't get sold before then) and if we don't get the house, then we will consider building. If we build we will have to live in a much smaller place, but it will be new at least. The house we want to make an offer on is 5 bed and 2 bath, so we would have plenty of room to grow, and its actually only about a mile from where we are now. So wish us luck on the offer! As for other events we have just kept really busy with gym stuff, which is always fun, and also Justin's parents are moving back to Rigby this summer! It will be fun having them close again, Lexi misses her grandma. As for miss Lexi she is growing up so fast and she is soo cute. She has a strange obsession with toilet paper. I can't keep her away from it! She likes to rip it in tiny peices, and then eat it, it's so weird. The other day at the gym, I got to take care of one of our coach's babies for about an hour, and she is 3 months old, so her and lexi are about 10 1/2 months apart. Lexi loved her, and she wasn't jealous at all, which was good, hopefully she maintains that mentality when we have baby number 2! (not announcing anything, just saying) Anyway, that's what is new with us.

House Hunting

So we have been married for three and a half years, and I always thought when the time came to look for a house, that it would be fun and exciting...wrong. It's stressful and discouraging. Don't get me wrong, when we find the right house, I know I will be very excited, but right now it's stressful. We got pre approved for a loan last week, and we had our first trip with our realtor this morning. It was frustrating how different the houses looked in real life rather then the pictures on line. Most of the houses in our price range are either small and new, or old and big....and I can't decided which is better. We looked at a couple of older homes that have some real potential, but I was getting a head ache thinking how much work we would have to put in to make it nice. We figured out yesterday that the first house we buy we will need to stay in for around 8 years if we want to build enough equity for a down payment on a nicer home, so this has to be something I can be happy with for at least 8 years (assuming the economy gets better and we can sell for what we bought it for or more) So I guess my question is which is better a newer home with not much space and storage or an older home that needs at the least new carpet, paint, and other little remodels, but has a lot more square footage? The lazy side of me thinks it would be nice to move into a newer home, and leave it the way it is, but the more adventurous side of me thinks that maybe taking a risk on an older home would be fun. What do you think?

So Im a blog stalker

Ya I just spent an hour reading people's blogs that are not on my friend list. Yes they were people I know or knew, but still it's kind of creepy right? I am really enjoying this blog thing, I like it better then facebook even. In fact if all my facebook "friends" had a blog, then I would get rid of facebook. Anyway, updates for the week.. Lexi has been throwing up all weekend, but of course no one believes me because as soon as Auntie Des and Uncle Jared come over she is totally fine, and is all giggly playing with Dom and Gabe, and she seriously has barely smiled all weekend. I was able to get a few running sessions in last week which is really good for me, but I need to gripe and be mean for a second. If I didn't live in Rexburg then I most likely would be running outside in the fresh air, but considering it's below freezing for over half the year, I don't really have a choice but to run on the treadmill. So this happened to me twice last week while running (and keep in mind I'm about dying of exhaustion anyway) some stinky guy gets on the treadmill right next to me when there are at least 15 free treadmills that are not next to me. Why would you do that?? Give me my space! I can hardly breathe as it is, so it's really kind of frustrating. I understand I'm at a gym, and people are going to stink, but out of the courtesy of other people I more often than not chew gum, wear deodarant (alot of it), and usually a few sprays of perfume. Why can't everyone do the same for me? Anyway, that's my pet peeve at the moment.

getting in shape

So when I was in Oregon, Justin and I went on a couple of runs. The first day we were there we ran 4 miles! I was so proud of myself, and I was so sore, but it felt awesome! Running makes me feel really good. So my goal was to run fifty miles in two weeks, I figured 5 miles a day, 5 days a week. So on Monday I headed over to Worlds Gym and ran my five miles..it was rough, but it felt good. Then on Tuesday my friend that I haven't seen since before pregnancy and nursing showed up, and I had horrid cramps...I never get cramps! I ran two miles, and about died, and still hurting today...I am so bummed!!! So now I have to start all over again tomorrow. Worse things have happened I suppose, but it still kind of stinks

fun pictures

These are just a couple pictures from our trip to Oregon that I thought were cute. Now that I'm back home it seems extra cold here in Rexburg. It wasn't by all means eighty degrees in Oregon or anything but it got up to about sixty, and i was wishing I would have brought my capris and flip flops.

Does anyone know how?

Does anyone know how to add a private blog? I have received a couple invitations to view private blogs, but I want to add them to my friend list, and I don't know how....any ideas?

oregon

Justin and I got to Oregon last night for a gymnstics competition on Saturday. We suprised my sister and my neices who thought we were coming in on Friday night. So we had fun last night! My family hasn't seen Lexi walking yet, so it was fun for them to see her walking all over the place. She got a late birthday present from JD and Rebecca. A hula skirt, necklace, flower, and bikini top from Hawaii! I will have to post pictures when I get home. This morning when my mom gets home from work, Justin and I are going for a run, for two reasons. One its a clear blue sky this morning and a dry ground, which you don't usually see here this time of year, and two my mom thinks that when we come into town she needs to provide chips, cookies, candy, and panda express....which is great but I always come home home about 4 lbs heavier then when I left :) It's worth it right?
